  • (001)Founding Engineer · Chief Engineer track

The first engineer beside the founder, on a track to chief engineer.

    Who you are

You've spent 4+ years shipping production software people depend on, ideally close to the people who build hardware. You've taken something from zero to one, and you'd rather sit with an engineer at the test rig than read a spec about it.

    What you'll do

    • Build the trace graph that links requirements, tests, runs, code and parts, with full history.
    • Ship impact analysis engineers trust: change one thing, see what it touches and what has to re-run.
    • Bring a team's real data in fast, from the tools they already use.
    • Make the AI accurate enough to hold up in a design review.
    • Work beside the engineers who use it, and set the engineering bar as the team grows.

    Tech stack

    • AI/ML: LLM APIs, agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses
    • Backend: Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy), PostgreSQL
    • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, React
    • Infra: AWS (ECS, GovCloud), Docker, Vercel, GitHub Actions
    • Data: PDF and spreadsheet parsing

    Who should apply

    You might be:

    • A full-stack engineer who has shipped LLM features and wants harder problems
    • A forward-deployed engineer who wants to own the product, not just the rollout
    • A founding engineer or ex-CTO ready for the next one

You'll stand out if you have

    • Shipped an AI feature to real users, with evals you trusted
    • Built graph or versioned data systems
    • Deployed software on-prem or in regulated environments
    • Held a role that mixed code with customer time
    • Founding-team or 0→1 experience

    Real talk

    • You'll own work end to end, from the engineer's problem to production.
    • You'll ship to users in days, not weeks.
    • Specs will be rough. You'll fill the gaps by talking to the engineer who asked.
    • You'll wear many hats: engineer, architect, product, recruiter and support.
    • If you want software to make hardware teams faster, you'll thrive here.
  • (002)Founding Engineer · Generalist

For an early-career builder who wants to own large pieces of the product, fast.

    Who you are

You build things nobody asked you to: a Formula SAE telemetry stack, a student rocket, a CubeSat, or a side project people use. Zero to three years out of school is fine. Proof that you build is not optional.

    What you'll do

    • Bring messy engineering data in: requirement exports, spreadsheets, test logs and Git history.
    • Build the views engineers work in every day.
    • Watch teams use Tensol, then ship the fixes the same day.

    Tech stack

    • AI/ML: LLM APIs, agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses
    • Backend: Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy), PostgreSQL
    • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, React
    • Infra: AWS (ECS, GovCloud), Docker, Vercel, GitHub Actions
    • Data: PDF and spreadsheet parsing

    Who should apply

    You might be:

    • A student-team lead who ran telemetry, DAQ or testing
    • A new grad with a side project people actually use
    • An intern at a hardware company who automated the tedious parts

You'll stand out if you have

    • Test, V&V or systems work at a hardware company or on a student team
    • Built something real with LLMs
    • Comfort in Python or TypeScript

    Real talk

    • You'll own more than you expect, and learn faster than anywhere else.
    • You'll ship to users in days, not weeks.
    • Specs will be rough. Ask the engineer who asked.
